Born on December 2, 1940, in Zapata County, Texas, to Jesus Cuellar and Eliza Valdez, Leonor lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service to others. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and supportive daughter, sister, and aunt.
Her unwavering Catholic faith was a cornerstone of her life. She taught bible school for many years and found deep fulfillment in her involvement with the Catholic Daughters. In the years after her illness, she continued her daily prayers, fortified by her love of God.
Together with her beloved husband, Wilfredo Lopez Sr., Leonor helped to build not only a successful family business—Fred’s Fine Furniture in Falfurrias and Zapata—but also a home filled with warmth, love, and countless cherished memories. Her greatest joy came from her family, especially in watching her grandchildren grow, laugh, and thrive. She treasured every moment spent with her loved ones.
Leonor now rests peacefully, reunited in Heaven with her loving husband, her parents, and her precious granddaughter, Ariela Andrea Aleman.
Though she is no longer physically with us, her memory and legacy live on in the hearts of her children and grandchildren, who will carry forward the love, strength, and values she instilled in them.
Surviving Leonor are her two sons, Wilfredo (Maria) Lopez, Jr. of Zapata, and Adam (Norma) Lopez of Falfurrias; three daughters, Inez (Antonio) Gonzalez, Edna (Faustino, III) Aleman, and Nora Gonzalez all of Falfurrias; brothers, Lizandro Cuellar of California, and Valentin Jorge Cuellar of Laredo, Texas; sisters, Elsa Rodriguez, and Rosa Garcia both of Laredo, and Andrea Gonzalez of Houston, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Pallbearers will be Antonio Enede Gonzalez, Roberto Andres Gonzalez, Daniela Maria Lopez, Dariela Dalia Aleman, Juan Carlos Gonzalez, and Ricardo Gabriel Longoria.
Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias with Burial to follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Falfurrias.
