Manuela L. Gonzalez

Manuela L. Gonzalez, 98, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at a hospital in Kingsville, Texas. She was born on March 6, 1914 to Cristobal Lopez and Jesusa Canales Lopez in Realitos, Texas. She worked for many years as a secretary for many different employers in Falfurrias as well as a notary public. She also volunteered her time to help out the military during her husband’s enrollment. She later in life was on the draft board and attended A&I University receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at the age of 73. Manuela was not shy when it came to lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gonzalo Gonzalez, Sr.; son Gonzalo Gonzalez, Jr.; brothers, Arturo, Cristobal, Jr. and Jesus Maria Lopez; sisters, Elida Lopez, Aurora L. Hinojosa and Benilde L. Gonzalez . She is survived by her sister, Jesusa Gonzalez of Falfurrias, Texas; grandson, Lee Gonzalez of Rockport, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews who all will miss her dearly.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias.

Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Falfurrias.
