Maria Beatriz Munoz

Maria Beatriz Munoz entered eternal rest on Friday, February 20, 2026, at her residence in Falfurrias, Texas at the age of 80. She was born on October 15, 1945, to Jose Canas and Maria Santos Ponce Gonzalez in Acuyo, Michoacán, Mexico. Maria attended college to further her education and then become a businesswoman and owned and operated her own restaurant in Mexico for many years. She later became a US citizen and moved to Falfurrias, Texas where she loved being a part of the community and felt very comfortable in the community. She worked as a provider and cared for the elderly for over 20 years as well as with the Wilkinson and Maupin families that became like a second family to her.

Maria was an extremely hard worker who always went above and beyond what was expected of her. She was a proud mother and grandmother and liked to garden. She was very independent and didn’t like to ask for help and tended to stick to herself. Although she was a petite woman, she was quite powerful. Maria was also always willing to help children in anyway she could and was an dedicated donor for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital Organization.

She was welcomed into Heaven by the Lord and reunited with her beloved parents; husband, Bascilio Munoz Martinez; brothers, Victor Santoyo and Martin Santoyo; and sisters, Lucia Santoyo, Teresa Santoyo, and Eva Santoyo.

Maria is survived by her children, Daniel (Haelyn) Millan of Ozark, Arkansas, Hugo (Diane Victoria) Millan of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Nora Munoz (Miguel Angel) Solorsano of Tulsa, and Juana Corina (Angel Cigales) Munoz of Mexico City, Mexico; sisters, Florinda Santoyo of Falfurrias, and Ernestina Canas Trevino of Harlingen, Texas; five grandchildren, Paulina Cigales, Angel Cigales, Nora Viviana Solorsano, Hugo Isaiah Millan, and Myah Millan; one great-grandson, Nicolas Cigales; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, with a time to share memories at 1:15 p.m. at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias. A Graveside service will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park at 2:00 p.m.
