Maria Elena Pena

Maria Elena Pena entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the Meridian Care Nursing Home in Hebbronville, Texas at the age of 80. She was born on July 1, 1937 to Secundino Fuentes and Cenobia Rodriguez Fuentes in Laredo, Texas. Maria was the biggest blessing to her children and was deeply loved and appreciated. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Domingo Pena, Sr.; son, Alfredo Fuentes and daughters, Maria Elena Leal and Frances P. Villanueva.

She is survived by her six sons, Jose S. (Dolores) Pena of Premont, Texas, Domingo (Karen) Pena, Jr. of Pahrump, Nevada, Reynaldo (Erica) Pena of Hebbronville, Ruben Pena of Hebbronville, Victor (Raquel) Pena, Sr. of Chula Vista, California and David (Cheryl) Pena of Palatine, Illinois; five daughters, Guadalupe P. Love of Columbus, Ohio, Sandra P. (Johnny, Sr.) Mugica of Austin, Texas, Cecilia P. Ramirez of Hebbronville, Laura P. (John, Sr.) Trevino of Hebbronville and Diana P. Baez of Hebbronville; brother, Roberto Fuentes of Racine, Wisconsin; sister, Juana F. (Mario) Martinez of Racine, Wisconsin and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Rene Ramirez, Jr., Daniel Lee Salinas, John G. Trevino, Jr., Joe Derek Pena, Gerardo Roel Leal, David N. Pena, James Anthony Pena and Victor Pena, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Elijah Ramirez, Jr., Johnny Mungica, Jr., Dallas Pena and Francisco J. Villanueva.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville. Burial will follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
