With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished matriarch, Maria E. Rodriguez, who entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the age of 84, at a nursing home in Laredo, Texas.
Maria was born on October 17, 1940, in Mirando City, Texas, to devoted parents Antonio Ramon and Rosalia Banda Ramon. From the very beginning, she carried a spirit of strength, compassion, and grace that would go on to define her life and the countless lives she touched.
She was a pillar of love and guidance to her family; always offering a listening ear, warm embrace, or wise word when it was most needed. Her unwavering faith, boundless generosity, and tireless devotion to her loved ones were hallmarks of the beautiful life she lived. Whether through her gentle words, her kind heart, or her quiet acts of service, Maria's presence brought comfort and peace to everyone who knew her. Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Javier Ramon.
Maria will be deeply missed but never forgotten by her surviving family: husband, Roberto S. Rodriguez Sr. of Mirando City; children, Roberto S. (Nora) Rodriguez Jr. of Del Rio, Texas, Rene E. Rodriguez of Fort Worth, Texas, Araceli R. (Gerardo E.) Perez of Natalia, Texas, and Margarita (Joel R.) Ruiz of Laredo; siblings, Antonio Ramon of Sunnyvale, CA, Armandina Ramon of Mirando City, Ruben Ramon of Mirando City, Sandra De La Garza of Laredo, and Jesse Ramon of Calallen, Texas; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 26, 2025, starting at 8:30 a.m. with a Holy Rosary at 9:30 a.m. at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Hebbronville. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Agnes Mission in Mirando City, Texas. Burial will follow at the Magnolia Cemetery in Webb County.
