Maria Oralia Sanchez was called home by the Lord on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the age of 88, in Alice, Texas. She was born on February 3, 1937, to Uvaldo Pena and Francisca Carbajal Pena in Falfurrias, Texas. Oralia worked for many years as a seamstress and an Avon sales representative, where she received numerous top sales awards over the years.
She was a dedicated Children’s Sunday School teacher who loved to share her love for Christ by singing His praises. She cherished the Lord with all her heart and made it a point to spread the word of God in her everyday conversations with family and friends.
Oralia was the heart of her family, ensuring that everyone felt loved and special. She had a unique ability to make others feel comfortable and genuinely cared for. You would melt into her hugs and couldn’t help but smile when she smiled. She also enjoyed collecting a variety of dolls.
Oralia was welcomed through the gates of Heaven by the Lord and reunited with her parents, her husband Servando Longoria Sanchez, all ten of her siblings, and her son-in-law Benito Gutierrez.
She is survived by her three sons: Servando (Anilda) Sanchez, Jr. of Falfurrias, Javier (Alissa) Sanchez of Falfurrias, and Joel (Imelda) Sanchez of Boca Raton, FL, and four daughters: Dalia (Fidencio) Perez of Encino, Texas, Graciela Gutierrez of Edinburg, Texas, Roxie Fuller of Falfurrias, and Berta (Tony) Robinson of Mount Vernon, Texas. In addition, she leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family who will cherish her memories forever.
Pallbearers will be Michael Garza, Yvette Perez, JB Perez, Jose Perez, Jaime Sanchez, Javier Sanchez Jr., Anthony James Sanchez and Andrew Valdez. Honorary Pallbearers are Adam Diaz and Joshua Crowell.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
