Mario Alberto Salinas entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at his residence in Hebbronville, Texas, surrounded by his family, at the age of 63. He was born on February 20, 1961 to Roberto Salinas Jr. and Barbarita Saenz Salinas in Hebbronville. He spent the majority of his life working in the oilfield before becoming a Regional Manager for QP Energy Services.
Mario was an extraordinary and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He found joy in the simple pleasures. When he wasn’t watching his westerns, he enjoyed BBQing, fishing, working out, drinking a beer (or a few), cheering on his favorite football team, the Kansas City Chiefs, and filling every moment with his signature sarcasm and wit. Above all, he cherished times spent with his family and friends. Mario’s passion for life, his generous spirit, and quick comebacks touched everyone who knew him. He will be remembered for his unwavering love, his laughter, and the countless memories he created with those closest to him.
Mario was welcomed into the gates of Heaven by his parents; his sisters, Sylvia Barraz and Lucia S. Ramirez, and his brother, Roberto Salinas III.
Mario leaves behind many fond memories that will forever be treasured by his wife of 39 years, Ana A. Salinas of Hebbronville; son, Mario Alberto Salinas Jr. of San Antonio; daughters, Jeannette (Frank) Salinas-Lopez of Kingsville, and Dannette (Travis) Salinas-Burkett of Austin; brothers, Tomas Salinas and Antonio (Rose) Salinas; parents-in-law Antonio & Minnie Gonzalez; brother-in-laws Arnoldo Ramirez, Tomas Barraz, Antonio Gonzalez Jr., and Jose A. Gonzalez all of Hebbronville; grandchildren, Adelyn and Evan Lopez; grand-dog Louise; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the entire AYA 12th floor staff at University Health Hospital in San Antonio, TX, the Medical Team Hospice in Hebbronville, TX, and QP Energy Services for their loving and exceptional care.
