Martha Frances Burrow

Martha Frances Burrow, a dedicated Christian, loving and caring wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, left this world on February 15, 2022 at age 91 to be with her Lord.

Born to Earl and Lucy Cunningham on August 16, 1930, she was the sixth of eight children raised in Hillsboro, Texas. In 1954 she married the love of her life, husband Harvey, and after a short honeymoon moved to South Texas where they raised their four children: Kenny, Carolyn, Debra, and Tammy.

She loved reading her Bible and listening to it on audio. She would sing church hymns all day as she went about her housework and faithfully prayed for those people she loved and those who she had not met yet.

Martha’s talents were many and varied; all centering around making life lovelier for others. Her kitchen skills were exceptional and extraordinary. Though her kitchen was small, her culinary talents were grand; she excelled in creating delicious meals and unbelievably beautiful deserts from scratch for her family. She also loved playing games and laughing with her family and friends around the table. Her generous hospitality was enjoyed by many lucky friends and relatives who regularly reminisced about their wonderful times at her table. Her genuine warmth and sense of humor was infectious. Her faith and her love for her family were the foundations she built her life upon.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Kenny (Darcy) Burrow of Elkhart, Texas; daughters, Carolyn Gilbert of Premont, Debra Burrow of Plano, Texas and Tammy (Carlos) Martinez of Premont; sister, Mary Dorsey of Fort Worth, Texas; seven grandchildren, Michael Gilbert, Daniel Burrow, Jeff Burrow, Peter Gilbert, Christianna Stavroudis, Meghan Martinez and Trevor Martinez and one great-grandchild, June Martinez.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Premont with Visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park in Falfurrias.
