Maria De La Luz Ruiz or Mary Lou, as she was more known as, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at a hospital in Houston, Texas at the age of 61. She was born on November 19, 1962 to Andres Perez and Manuela Garza Perez in Falfurrias, Texas. Mary Lou was a resident of Hebbronville, Texas and could usually be found working at the pavillion or with the elderly.
Mary Lou adored her family beyond what words can explain. She enthusiastically devoted her time to her grandchildren and loved them unconditionally. She was consistently volunteered her time anywhere she could and was willing to help out her community in as many ways as she could. She had many passions like cooking, sewing and decorating, but her favorite would have had to be fixing young girls hair and make up for special events like for their quince and pageants.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hilario Leonel Ruiz and siblings, Adan, Pablo, Jose D., Homero, Josefina, Eva, Raul and Maria Guadalupe Perez.
Mary Lou leaves behind many fond memories that will forever be treasured by her children, Venessa Ruiz, Amanda (Rigoberto Garza) and Odell Ademar (Stephanie Tolentino) Ruiz; special friend, Bacilio Galvan all of Hebbronville; siblings, Santana Perez of California, Noe Perez of Sejita, Texas, Santiago Perez of Hebbronville and Andres Perez, Jr. of Montana; eight grandchildren and was expecting her first great-grandchild in December.
Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Hebbronville with Visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville with services concluding at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
