Melissa J. Longoria, 45, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at her residence in Falfurrias, Texas surrounded by her loving family. Melissa was born on February 27, 1975 to Mario Vela and Susana Villarreal Vela in Falfurrias. She worked for over 10 years as a Home Health Provider for Palm Valley Health Care. Melissa loved spending her time playing with her granddaughters, reading a good book, watching television shows and making cheesecakes. She was an animal lover as well.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents; aunts, Veronica Stansell and Janie Fontana and uncle, Vince Fontana.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories her son, Arturo Christian Longoria; daughters, Alyssa (Romeo, Jr.) Rivera and Andrea (David) Lara; parents; Mario and Susana Vela all of Falfurrias; sisters, Victoria (Javier) Villafana of San Antonio, Jessica (Joseph Garcia) Vela of Falfurrias and Jennifer (Matias) Patino of San Benito, Texas; three granddaughters, Penelopy Rivera, Summer Rivera and Phoebe Rivera; four nephews and many extended family members and friends.
