Minerva “Minnie” Hinojosa Saenz entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 4, 2022 at her residence in Premont, Texas at the age of 87. She was born on May 13, 1934 to Adolfo Hinojosa and Josefa Rodriguez Hinojosa in Falfurrias, Texas. Minnie worked for over 22 years as the Head Cashier for the First State Bank in Premont. She later was a Bookkeeper for Praxedis Canales and Terry Canales for many years until her retirement. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and thought the world of them. She enjoyed watching game shows and tennis on the television and visiting different casinos when she could.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Consuelo Hinojosa.
Minnie is survived by her husband of 67 years, Luis S. Saenz of Premont; daughter; Mary Yvonne “Bonnie” (Javier “Jerry”) Cavazos of Alice, Texas; sisters, Sulema (Jose Enrique) Garcia of Corpus Christi, Texas, Irma Lozano of San Antonio, Texas and Estella Perez of Liberty, Texas; three grandsons, Javier Jay (Rosemary) Cavazos, Jerry Jaymes (Destini) Cavazos and Joshua Jaycob (Tammy) Cavazos; nine great-grandchildren; special caretakers and friends, Antonia Plata, Endelia Saenz and Abigail Flores and numerous nieces, nephews and many extended family members.
Gratitude is expressed to Kingsville Hospice doctors, nurses and staff for the support and care you gave to Minnie.
Pallbearers will be Javier Jay Cavazos, Jerry Jaymes Cavazos, Joshua Jaycob Cavazos, Adolfo Garcia, Raymond Scott Hoyer, Servando Perez, Jr., Santiago Recio and Jose Salinas, Jr. Honorary Pallbearer will be Eloy Perez.
A Rosary will be prayed at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Premont with Viewing beginning at 8:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. and services to conclude with Burial at the Premont Cemetery.
