

Nicolas Huerta, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 18, 2015 at a hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas at the age of 93. He was born on December 5, 1921 to Santos Huerta and Sara Cantu Huerta in Falfurrias, Texas. Nicolas proudly served our country in the United States Army during WWII. He later worked for the Brooks County ISD for over 32 years until his retirement. He was a very devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was fully dedicated to his Catholic faith and his church.
As Nicolas entered into the gates of Heaven, he was reunited with his infant daughter, Consuelo, his parents and sister, Dominga Huerta.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife of over 73 years, Celia Castillo Huerta of Falfurrias; two sons, Nicolas (Shannon) Huerta, Jr. of Denver, CO and Juan Antonio (Dusty) Huerta of Corpus Christi; four daughters, Elia Huerta of Falfurrias, Sara (Ovidio) Garza of Encino, Rosa Maria Longoria of Falfurrias and Georgina (Librado) Trevino of Mission, Texas; five brothers; three sisters; 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be James Espinoza, Alfredo Garcia, Joey Garza, Sergio Orlando Garza, Karen Gordon, Marco Jimenez, Samuel Pena and Luis Vazquez.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at: 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 22, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias.
