Norberto “Pichi” R. Buenrostro, 64, of Falfurrias, Texas, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. He was born on January 30, 1962, in Falfurrias, Texas, and was lovingly raised by his maternal grandparents, Jose Oscar Ramirez and Maria Arredondo Ramirez.
Norberto was a ranch hand for most of his life and enjoyed being outdoors and working on the ranch. He also spent many years working as a landscaper, where his natural green thumb was evident in everything he grew and cared for, especially his garden. He was a hardworking, determined man who could accomplish just about anything he set his mind to.
Above all, Norberto was a devoted father and grandfather. He worked hard to provide for his children and the people he loved and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was selfless and generous, the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. His family will always remember him as an amazing dad, grandpa, brother, and friend.
Pichi had a strong personality and a wonderful sense of humor. He was friendly, outgoing, and often the life of any gathering. One of the phrases that captured his spirit best was his familiar, “Never give up!” as he pumped his fist into the air, showing the strength and determination he carried throughout his life. He was a true go-getter who gave 100 percent in everything he did, even on his hardest days.
He loved spending time with his brothers and family, especially his children and grandchildren. Fishing, hunting, and skinning animals were among his favorite pastimes.
Norberto was preceded in death by his father, Salvador Buenrostro, and his maternal grandparents, Jose Oscar and Maria Arredondo Ramirez.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Norberto (Rebecca) Buenrostro Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Roberto (Victoria) Buenrostro of Nashville, Tennessee; his daughters, Trixy Buenrostro and Felisha Banegas, both of Nashville, and Talia Buenrostro of Falfurrias; his brothers, Salvador (Nelda) Buenrostro Jr., Oscar (Olivia) Buenrostro, Noe (Letty) Buenrostro, and Raul (Priscilla) Tijerina; his sisters, Velma (A.B.) Pena, Trina (Rolando) Yerena, Cindy Buenrostro, Lori Buenrostro, and Michelle Ortiz; 17 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
