Norma J. Leal entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at a hospital in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 74. She was born on January 13, 1947 to Feliciano Johnson and Elida Rodriguez Johnson in Premont, Texas. Norma was currently employed with Premont ISD and was a dedicated Food Service Provider for the past 45+ years. Over the years, she fed thousands of children and generations of families and she enjoyed it.
Norma was a devout Catholic and she spent much of her free time reading and gardening. She was a very independent person and the least selfish individual you would ever meet. Her family was her world and she was so proud of them.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Juan Manuel Leal.
Norma is survived by her three daughters, Michelle (Perry) Mayfield of Falfurrias, Texas, Irene (Rudy) Fernandez of Bandera, Texas and Isabel (Eric) Benavidez of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, Albert Pena, Jr., Charles Bray, Rudy Fernandez, Jr., and Victoria Elida Fernandez; two sisters, Anna (Roel) Martinez of Brazoria, Texas and Susie (Roy) Hernandez of Angleton, Texas; two nieces; three nephews and many extended family members, coworkers and friends.
A Rosary will be prayed at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Premont with services to conclude with Burial at the Premont Cemetery.
