

Norman Trevino Sr. lived a remarkable 91 years, creating cherished memories with his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Norman entered eternal rest on Monday, July 20, 2026, at a hospital in Kingsville, Texas surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on August 12, 1934, to Jesus Trevino and Tomasita Gonzalez Trevino in Concepción, Texas. Norman will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his strong work ethic, his love for ranching, and the quiet strength and kindness he exuded.
Norman proudly served his country in the United States Army during the 1950s. In 1959, he married the love of his life, Josefina Gonzalez, and together they raised four children and shared 66 wonderful years of marriage. A dedicated rancher throughout his life, Norman also devoted more than 44 years of service as a Scale Weigher at the Edinburg Livestock Auction, where he was respected for his hard work, integrity, and commitment.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Tomasita Trevino; his beloved grandson, Willie Zarate Jr.; his brother, Omar G. Trevino; his sister, Berta De Leon; and his nephew, Carlos De Leon.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Josefina G. Trevino of Falfurrias, Texas; sons, Norman (Clelia) Trevino Jr. of Falfurrias and Roberto (Bricia) Trevino of El Paso, Texas; daughters, Griselda (Willie) Zarate of Premont, Texas and Linsbia T. (Dan) Meyer of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren he adored, Adrian Trevino, Erica T. (Sammy) Mendoza, Tanya M. (Mark) Buzek, Dr. Macy Meyer, Jacob Meyer, Dr. Adela M. (Chad) Johnson, and Adan R. Trevino; four treasured great-grandchildren; nephews, Omar “Sonny” (Nancy) Trevino, Norman (Mandy) Trevino and Mario (Jill) De Leon; nieces, Sonia DeLeon (Jerry) Jarvis and Marisol DeLeon (Rick) Pellegrino and many extended family members and dear friends.
Pallbearers will be Adan Trevino, Adrian Trevino, Jacob Meyer, Mark Buzek, Sammy Mendoza and Roy Ramirez. Honorary Pallbearers are Tanya M. Buzek, Erica T. Mendoza, Dr. Macy Meyer, Kiele Trevino and Alelia Trevino.
A Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
