Odelia Perez completed her earthly journey and went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at a nursing home in Falfurrias, Texas. Born on March 18, 1938, to Prajedis and Berta Jimenez Buenrostro in Falfurrias, Odelia was a cherished blessing to her family for 87 years.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Odelia spent much of her life caring for others. She worked as a caretaker and provider, always placing the needs of those around her before her own.
Odelia was a faithful servant of God, walking beside her beloved husband, Pastor Esteban L. Perez, as they planted seeds of faith and love in their community. She loved to sing worship songs in praise of Jesus and spent countless hours in prayer, always trusting in God’s grace and goodness.
She found joy in dancing, cooking, and gathering with family, sharing stories and memories that will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
Odelia is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sons Homer Perez and Alberto Perez; her granddaughter Amy Perez; her brothers Salvador, Israel, Alejandro, Roberto (Olivia), Guadalupe (Janie), Manuel (Alma), and David Buenrostro; and her sisters Celia (Luciano) Pena and Estella (Jesus).
She is survived by her sons Esteban (Nora) Perez Jr., George (Estella) Perez, Gavino (Margaret) Perez, and Daniel Perez, all of Falfurrias; her daughter Berlinda Perez of Falfurrias; her brothers Prajedis (Lola) Buenrostro Jr. and Humberto Buenrostro; her sisters Elida (Ezequiel) Garza, Ester (Baldemar) Bueno, Noelia (Hector) Benavides, and Norma (Robelin) Perez; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family who will forever remember her love, faith, and kindness.
Pallbearers will be Gavino Perez Jr., Justin Perez, Naseem Rios, Adrian Bueno, David Sanchez, Alejandro Buenrostro Jr., Esteban Perez IV, and Isaiah Riojas.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, at the Maranatha Assembly of God Church in Falfurrias, with Visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
