Odelia “Lile” S. Rodriguez entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 in Edinburg, Texas at the age of 69. She was born on December 5, 1949 to Eliezar G. Saenz, Sr. and Estella Garza Saenz in Alice, Texas. Lile worked for many years as a Teacher’s Aide in Encino under Brooks County ISD and touched many of her students’ lives in different ways. She was a woman of unaltered faith and took great pride in her children and grandchildren. She loved family gatherings and barbeques.
As she was welcomed into Heaven by the Lord, she was reunited with her parents and her four siblings, Eliezar Saenz, Jr., Amalia S. Johnson, Robeline Saenz and Ida Saenz.
She is survived by her three sons, Octavio "Tavo" (Claudia) Rodriguez of Los Olmos, Rey (Maggie) Rodriguez, Jr. of Alice and Chris (Lilly) Rodriguez of Los Olmos; daughter, Gracie Rodriguez of Mission; brothers, Fortino (Melba) Saenz of Los Olmos, Steven (Christine) Saenz of Rosenberg and Richard (Norma) Saenz of Falfurrias; sisters, Noemi (Ernesto “Pepe”) Williams of Falfurrias, Esperanza Trevino of Premont and Rena (Israel) Alegria of Falfurrias; eight grandchildren, Octavio “Benny” Rodriguez, Oleg Rodriguez, Oziel Rodriguez, Morgan Pool, Gabriella Pool, Chris “CJ” Rodriguez, Jr., Makayla C. Rodriguez and Madeline G. Rodriguez; father of her children, Rey Rodriguez, Sr. of Falfurrias; her children’s brother, Daniel Rodriguez of Falfurrias and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2019 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias. Burial will follow at Los Olmos Cemetery in Falfurrias.
