Ofelia G. Lopez entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 9, 2025 in Falfurrias, Texas at the age of 88. She was born August 7, 1936 to Esequiel Garza and Juanita Longoria Garza at Escobares Ranch in Texas. Ofelia was a devout Catholic and member of the Sacred Heart Church. She devoted her time to her family and was a member of the Rosary Crusade and Schoenstatt Movement. She was also a member of The Cursillistas and loved singing De Colores alongside the other members. Ofelia loved decorating easter eggs for her grandchildren and she always got compliments on how beautiful they were.
Ofelia is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jose Angel Lopez, Jr., and her eight siblings.
She is survived by her four children, Jose Alonzo (Janie) Lopez of San Diego, Texas, Carlos Lopez of Falfurrias, Loretta (Robert) Cantu of Concepcion, Texas and Adrian Lopez of Corpus Christi, Texas; five grandchildren, Clarissa (Jason) Charles, Justin (Jordan) Lopez, Andrew (Yazmeen) Lopez, Rebecca (Nick) Lopez-Learned and Samantha (Daniel) Salinas; three great-grandchildren, Layla Marroquin, Chloe Charles and Adam Salinas; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Pallbearers will be Jose Alonzo Lopez, Carlos Lopez, Adrian Lopez, Robert Cantu, Andrew Lopez and Justin Lopez.
Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 8:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias and services will conclude with Burial at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Falfurrias.
