

Olivero Rosas, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather transitioned to his eternal rest on Sunday, March 5, 2017. He was 84 years old. He was born in Hebbronville, Texas on July 9, 1932 to Arcadio and Julia Cantu Rosas. Olivero served in the U.S. Army from 1953 - 1955. Raising his family in Falfurrias, Olivero worked as a dealer operating and managing a Phillips 66 gas station. He and his wife, Eva, also opened a restaurant known for its hamburgers and Mexican food. He enjoyed making his “Pan De Campo” bread for customers. Olivero was also a public servant. He served as the City Alderman in Falfurrias from 1971-1975 and as a Municipal Court Judge from 1979 – 2003. He was involved in civic organizations including the Knights of Columbus and was a former Little League Coach.
Olivero was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ocampo Rosas; and a sister, Zoila Pura Perez.
Cherishing his memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Eva Rosas of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Elsa (Bob) Matthews of Alice, Texas; three sons, Horacio (Marta) Rosas of Brownsville, Texas, Orlando (Linda) Rosas of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Dan Rosas of Modesto, California; two daughters, Olinda Ongay of San Antonio, Texas, and Patricia (John Henry) Cameron of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Falfurrias.
