Oscar Amador Carreon Jr. at the age of 61, earned his wings surrounded by his loved ones at home on Tuesday April 21, 2020 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born on December 22, 1958 in Falfurrias, Texas to Maria Minerva Barraz Carreon and Oscar Carreon.

He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and other loved ones.

Although the family that he left here on earth is hurting, we must rejoice in knowing that he is now dancing in God’s Kingdom. Oscar, or O.A. as his close family and friends would call him, was the eldest among his siblings. His younger sister Velma (Mario) Martinez and brother Omar Carreon reside in Hebbronville, Texas, along with most of his family. He also has two more siblings who live in Mexico, Oscarin (Fabi) Carreon and Diana Carreon. O.A. married the love of his life Marcy Gomez in June of 1989 and together were blessed with two beautiful girls, Giselle and Gabriela, who he called his “Babinas”. O.A. loved his family unconditionally with a genuine love that made us feel so special. Many of his daughter’s friends and family members saw him as the perfect example of a family man and father figure. He was and will remain one of God’s greatest blessings to all. Although his golden heart stopped beating, we will forever cherish the memories he gifted us. His benevolent spirit will forever be remembered by his loved ones… He loved us all CHINGOS. May his memory be a blessing to everyone who knew him.

A live stream chapel service for Oscar will be held Monday, April 27, 2020 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams. https://www.facebook.com/FDAHowardWilliams/

Marcy/Giselle/Gabi,

Our Hearts go out to each and all of you ! I will always remember OA as a Very Handsome Man, who I NEVER heard say a Negative word about anyone !! In spite of his Love for the Steelers, this Cowboys Fan ALWAYS had a very special Bond with him, as we both tried our best to be the Best Dad's and Husband's !! He accomplished that--I am still trying ... The World has lost a truly fine Man and Gentleman !!

So saddening to hear of the passing of not only a former coworker but a great friend. I am grateful to have been able to work along side Oscar for 3 years & get to know the person he was. He was a great husband, a loving father, a hard worker & an all around humble individual. I will always remember the advice he gave me on raising my 2 girls, as he had 2 daughters as well. Or the times I would sneak into his snack drawer at work & he could tell how many cookies were missing. The amount of love & care he had for his family & for others is truly amazing. Thank you Oscar for all the advice & knowledge you shared with me. You will truly be missed by many brother!

Our love, prayers and condolences go out to Marcy, the girls and the family in their great loss.
We lost a good friend and neighbor of many years who always had a smile, ready with a handshake, stop what he was doing to converse at the mailbox or his driveway, a good honest man, we will miss him.

I had the honor and privilege to meet Mr. Carreon and his wife when my nephew graduated from the university. Seems I knew the kind of man he was by knowing his precious daughter Gizelle, a fine young lady they raised. I am sorry to hear of his passing, but know that we are here for her and her family. May he rest in peace and may perpetual light shine upon him.

I do not believe I will ever meet a more sincere gentleman. He always greeted me with a warm smile and a firm handshake. He always expressed genuine concern for my and my families well being. One only has to look as far as his family to see the profound beneficial affect he has on others. Words seem so inadequate to express the sorrow of his loss. I have been blessed indeed to have known him and his family. He will be greatly missed, but will be in our hearts forever.

I never thought this would hit me this hard. I worked with Oscar for about a year and a half. I learned many things from him and he was Great man and co worker.

The memory that keeps replaying in my head is one that occurred many times inside of the vallen office. If you knew Oscar, you knew he loved the Steelers. I would always ask him (as I am a Ravens fan), “Who do the Steelers play this week Oscar?” He would would reply with, “ It doesn’t matter, we’re gonna beat em!”

If the Steelers lost on that weekend, he would remind us of how many Super Bowls the Steelers had won, and that we are far behind them! We always laughed about it.
I’ll never forget it.

Rest In Peace Oscar
