Oscar Escalante, III entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 6, 2023 at his residence in Falfurrias, Texas at the age of 38. He was born on May 2, 1984 to Oscar Escalante, Jr. and Norma Perez Escalante in Falfurrias. Oscar was a 2002 Falfurrias High School graduate.
Oscar previously worked with Las Palmas Veterinary Clinic in Falfurrias and was currently employed as a Ranch Hand with the Cage Ranch/La Calosa Ranch for many years. He was the prime example of a cowboy and loved ranching and being outdoors. As a loving father, he adored his son and any time they would spend together. He enjoyed welding and barbequing with family and friends. Although Oscar was a stubborn handful at times, he was truly a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, cousin, friend and above all else, father.
Oscar was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Oscar and Gloria Escalante; uncle, Osbaldo “Wally” Escalante and newborn nephew, Gian Carlo Trevino, Jr.
Left to cherish his memories are his parents, Oscar Escalante, Jr. and Norma Perez Escalante; wife, DeAndra Garza and son, Oscar Escalante, IV all of Falfurrias; sisters, Samantha Jo (Gian Trevino) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Jennifer Escalante (Wesley) Marquez of Falfurrias; maternal grandparents, Gilbert and Elva Perez of Falfurrias; nephews, Christopher Ramos and Caleb Marquez; niece, Alexia Ily Trevino; uncle, Orlando “Nano” Escalante and numerous cousins, extended family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Albert Galindo, Xavier Garza, Justin Salinas, Jay Martinez, Wesley Marquez, Robert Esquivel, Roque Reyes and Orlando Escalante.
Rosary will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 13, 2023 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias and services will conclude with Burial at the Rose Garden Family Cemetery in La Parita.
