After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Ramon Garza entered into eternal rest on Monday September 22, 2025, at his home in Falfurrias, Texas at the age of 71. Born on September 21, 1954, in Falfurrias to Alejandro Garza Sr. and Irene Ortiz Garza. Ramon was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Ramon started several businesses throughout his life, including his wood business Unlimited Mesquite and Garza’s fruit stand. His spirit was matched only by his joy of cooking, and cherished the time spent surrounded by his family, whom he loved deeply.
Ramon poured his heart into helping raise his grandchildren, filling their lives with love and guidance. Ramon also had great love for his two dogs, Whiskey and Baby, who were very devoted to him. Ramon had a lifelong admiration for Elvis Presley and could often be heard singing songs, sharing memories and having a good time with those around him. He also loved wearing his signature cowboy hat and cowboy boots, a reflection of the man he was, strong, grounded and true to himself.
Above all, Ramon was devoted to his beloved wife, Marylou, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage. Together they gave their children the most treasured gift of all: a loving example that true love is everlasting.
Ramon was welcomed into Heaven by the Lord and reunited with his beloved parents and his brother, Alejandro Garza Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marylou A. Garza of Falfurrias; his sons, Jacob (Christina) Garza of Kingsville, Texas and Joseph (Letty) Garza of Falfurrias; daughters, Lori (Sonny) Solis and Natalie (Jerry) Garcia, both of Falfurrias; brothers, Esteban (Deborah) Garza and Joe Angel Garza, both of Austin; sisters, Gloria Mireles Garza and Rosie (Joaquin) Tobias, both of Pasco, Washington; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his loyal dogs, Whiskey and Baby; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will continue to carry his memory in their hearts.
