Refugia Gloria Aldapa

Refugia Gloria Aldapa, lovingly known to her family as “Yaya,” entered eternal rest with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at a hospital in Kingsville, Texas, at the age of 80. Gloria was born on January 3, 1945, in Hebbronville, Texas, to Estanislado Alaniz Sr. and Elvira Herrera Alaniz. She worked for many years as a home health provider, taking great pride in caring for others and offering comfort and compassion to those in need.

Gloria was a devoted Guadalupana at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Premont, Texas, for many years and she found great joy in praying the rosary for everyone. The Christmas season was her favorite time of year. She also had a green thumb and loved tending to her plants and mini roses. In her quiet moments, she enjoyed word-search puzzles and listening to mariachi music, especially songs by Juan Gabriel and Vicente Fernández.

Gloria was reunited in Heaven with her parents; her beloved husband, Alfredo R. Aldapa Sr.; her brothers, Alberto Alaniz, Saturnino Alaniz, Alfredo Alaniz Jr., and Estanislado Alaniz Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She leaves behind cherished memories with her loving family: her son, Alfredo (Teressa) Aldapa Jr. of Wilson, North Carolina; her daughters, Arabella (Luis A.) Montalvo, San Juanita (Gabino) Sanchez, and Mary (Primitivo) Ramos, all of Premont; 13 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her great-niece, Erica (Jesus) Jimenez of Hebbronville, whom she raised as her own, along with their six children and two grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss her dearly.

Pallbearers will Alfredo Aldapa Jr., Alfredo Montalvo Jr., Jesus Ramos, Rudy Ramos Jr., Tomas Sanchez, and Alfredo Villanueva.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with a Rosary to be prayed at 11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 1:00 p.m. at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Premont and services will conclude with Burial at the Premont Cemetery.
