Rene G. Alvarado Sr.

Rene G. Alvarado, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 20, 2014 at a hospital in Alice, Texas at the age of 68. He was born on September 26, 1945 to Rodolfo Alvarado and Aurora Garcia Alvarado in Falfurrias, Texas. Rene worked as a painter and rancher for many years until his retirement. He will always be remembered for the loving man he was as well as being a jokester. Rene loved his family and even gave all his grandchildren nicknames. He enjoyed spending time on the ranch and barbequing. He adored his cows, chickens, dogs and cats. Rene was welcomed into the gates of Heaven by his parents; his son, Rocky Alvarado and his sister, Nori McQuarter. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife, Juanita Alvarado of Falfurrias, Texas; sons, Rene (Martha) Alvarado, Jr., Francisco (Annette) Alvarado and Alberto (Amy) Alvarado all of Falfurrias and Rodolfo (Yvette) Alvarado of Alice; brother, Romeo Alvarado of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister, Alicia (Park) Lee of Portland, Texas; 16 grandchildren, Erica (Jonathan), Tracey (Carlos), Melissa, Rene III, Frank Jr. (Rebecca), Alejandro (Vanessa), Eliana Renae, Isaac, Victoria, Alexis, Alexia, Armando, Kizzie, Rodolfo Jr., Janoah and Jayden, one grandchild on the way and five great-grandchildren, Jaelynn, Jazmin, Carlos III, Romeo and Riley and two great-grandchildren on the way.

A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2014 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams with visitation to beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias.

Burial will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
