Reynaldo Tejeda

Reynaldo Tejeda, 82, was called by the Lord on Monday, April 29, 2013 at a nursing home in Falfurrias, Texas. He was welcomed into the gates of Heaven by his parents, Manuel and Beatrice Tejeda; his son Armando Tejeda and his three brothers, Eloy, Reymundo and Ismael Tejeda.

Reynaldo was born on May 19, 1930 to Manuel Tejeda and Beatrice Rodriguez Tejeda in Falfurrias, Texas. Reynaldo proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War for two years until he was honorably discharged and later attended the school for the veterans where he received welding training. After returning back from the military he met and married his wife, Elida Salinas on February 1, 1954 and then began working for Exxon as an Independent Gasoline Distributer until his retirement after 36 years of loyal service.

Reynaldo leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife of 59 years, Elida S. Tejeda of Falfurrias, TX; son, Joe David Tejeda, Sr. of Falfurrias, TX; two daughters, Nora Tejeda (Bobby) Vasquez of Three Rivers, TX and Sylvia Tejeda Benavides of Falfurrias, Texas; five brothers, Ramiro Tejeda of Lamesa, TX, Rosendo Tejeda and Roberto Tejeda of Kingsville, TX, Rodolfo Tejeda of Tahoka, TX and Juan Manuel Tejeda of Oklahoma; two sisters, Ofelia Villagomez of Kingsville, Texas and Elosia Lopez of Lamesa, TX; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be his six grandsons; Michael, Mark and Robert Vasquez, Joe David Tejeda, Jr., Julio Benavides, Jr. and representing Jacob Correra is Reynaldo’s nephew Rudy Salinas.

Honorary Pallbearers will be his five granddaughters; JoAnn Guerra, JoLynn and JoElda Tejeda, Desiree Benavides and Amanda Tejeda.

Visitation will be at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias.

Burial will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
