Romeo Gutierrez Vela

Romeo Gutierrez Vela entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by his loving family at the age of 82. Romeo was born November 7, 1934 to Jose Maria Gutierrez and Dora Vela Gutierrez in the town of Hebbronville, Texas. He was an Army Veteran and a local Rancher. He loved being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.

Romeo was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jose A. Gutierrez and Lauro Gutierrez; two sisters, Elma Ortiz and Dora Gonzales. He is survived by his five sons, Romeo (Val) Gutierrez of San Antonio, David (Mabel) Gutierrez of Singapore, Javier (Francine) Gutierrez of Austin, Texas, Jorge (Selma) Gutierrez and Lauro Gutierrez both of San Antonio; three daughters, Carolina (Charles) Waterman of San Antonio, Irene (Brian) Tomlinson of Austin and Lourdes Gutierrez of San Antonio; brother, Jose M. Gutierrez, Jr.of San Antonio; three sisters, Olivia Munoz of Hebbronville, Yolanda and Rachel Raymond both of San Antonio; seventeen grandchildren; one great grandchild and many more extended family members.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 4, 2017 with a Rosary being prayed at 7:00 p.m. at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville. Burial will follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
