Romeo Herrera, a father, AT&T employee, teacher, counselor for San Antonio I.S.D, and a staunch advocate of Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA), died Sunday, December 20, 2020 due to complications brought on by COVID-19. He was 68.
Romeo was born on December 13, 1952, in Hebbronville, Texas, to Gloria Perez Herrera and Carlos Herrera, Sr., also of Hebbronville, Texas. He was one of six siblings, Cristina, Carlos, Jr., Leonel, Lydia and Sylvia.
Romeo graduated from Hebbronville High School Class of 1971, and went on to receive his B.S. degree from Sam Houston State University. He received his Master of Arts degree from Texas A&M Kingsville.
Romeo married and had three children, Stephen, MIchael, and Amy, who were his pride and joy. Romeo adored and was also very proud of three children, Stephen, MIchael and Amy, and his two grandchildren. Romeo was always a very good, kind, and helpful brother to his siblings and will be greatly missed. Likewise, Romeo was always very kind and helpful to his school students.
Romeo will always be remembered as a good father, grandfather, brother, and for his kindness. Romeo loved life.
A private visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 8:00 a.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams, Hebbronville, Texas and will be streaming services virtually thru Facebook. A private graveside service will be held at the New Hebbronville Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.
The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to CASA, San Antonio, Texas
