Thelma Sylvia Barrera

Thelma Sylvia Barrera entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at her residence in Falfurrias, Texas, at the age of 71. She was born on August 12, 1953, to Leonel Morales and Beatriz Carrasco in Falfurrias.

She is rejoicing in Heaven with the father who raised her, Onofre Hernandez Sr.; son, Baldemar Barrera Jr.; granddaughter, Janelle Alexandra Barrera; grandson, Damian Angel Chapa; brothers, Roy Hernandez and Antonio “Tony” Hernandez; and sister, Irma Hernandez Garcia.

Thelma leaves behind many fond memories that will forever be cherished by her husband, Baldemar Barrera Sr. of Falfurrias; sons, Baldo (Monica Sanchez) Barrera, and Michael Barrera both of Falfurrias, and Samuel (Isabel) Barrera of Rio Grande, Texas; daughters, Melissa (Leonel Salinas) Barrera of Falfurrias, Brenda Villegas of Rio Grande, Mary (Robert) Brossig of Premont, Texas, and Cassandra (Rick San Pedro) Barrera of Harlingen, Texas; mother, Beatriz C. Hernandez of Falfurrias; brother, Onofre Hernandez Jr. of Falfurrias; sisters, Belinda Foster of Buffalo, Texas, Velma Garcia of Premont, Roxanne Cruz and Leticia Garza both of Falfurrias; 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
