Tom Elwood DeSpain passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at a hospital in Laredo, Texas at the age of 60. He was born on January 20, 1959 to Paul and Kitty DeSpain in San Antonio, Texas. Tom graduated from Del Mar College in 1995 with a certificate in Diesel Technology and worked for many years with different companies including the Dilley Auto Supply, Paradise Cushion Designs as the Assistant Manager, San Patricio Corporation as a Mechanic, Truck Driver and Derrick and with Holt Caterpillar as a Service Technician. In 2008 he began his own company, La Sejita Energy Services, LLC of Hebbronville where he was currently the Owner and Operating Service Technician.
Tom was the proud winner of the North American Caterpillar Inc. Techmasters II Top Gun Technician Competition held in 2002 in Peoria, Illinois. He was a certified Diesel and Gas Fueled Technician with 24 years of experience and was very skilled with the operation of an abundant amount of shop equipment and machinery.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle DeSpain of Hebbronville; son, Thomas (Amanda) DeSpain of Corpus Christi, Texas; two daughters, Fanny DeSpain of Hebbronville and Michelle Pena of Laredo; sister, Mariana DeSpain; four grandchildren, Lilly DeSpain, Jackson DeSpain, Colton DeSpain and Aleyah Moreno and many extended family members including Polly Despain, Dan DeSpain, Conny DeSpain, Bob Despain, Aaron DeSpain and many others.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville with visitation from 12:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
