Vicente "Chente" Vela

Vicente “Chente” Vela passed away on Monday, July 14, 2015 in Hebbronville, Texas at the age of 37. He was born on October 26, 1977 to Ricardo Vela, Jr. and Rosa Rosales in Falfurrias, Texas. Chente worked as a self-contracted maintenance man. He was an wonderful and caring father, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. He enjoyed barbequing and was a fan of the Redskins and Budweiser. Chente is preceded in death by his sister, Sonia Vela Ortiz and his nephew, Jerimiah Anthony Vela. He is survived by his wife, Tatiana C. Vela of Hebbronville; five sons, Vicente Vela of Minnesota, Alejandro Vela of Falfurrias, Texas, Kahlub Vela, Gabriel Vela and Miguel Angel Alvares all of Hebbronville; three daughters, Sonya Vela of Minnesota, Ana Castillo and Zuley Vela both of Hebbronville; his dad, Carlos Soliz; mother, Rosa Rosales of Hebbronville, his father, Ricardo Vela, Jr. of Hebbronville; six brothers, Ricardo (Anna Garza) Vela, III of Hebbronville, Jason Vela of Corpus Christi, Texas, Randy (Rosa) Gonzalez of Benavides, Texas, Mario Gonzalez of Hebbronville, Leroy (Maricela) Gonzalez of Hebbronville and Rodolfo Gonzalez, Jr. of Floresville, Texas; three sisters, Rosa Lydia (Armando) Carpentier of Hebbronville, Vicky (Felix) Hernandez of Harlingen, Texas and Valerie (Abelardo) Perez of Alice, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Pallbearers will be Rene Ramirez, Carlos Vasquez, Rodolfo Santos, Gonzalo Santos, Alejandro Carpentier, Tony Marquez, Rolando Ramos and Bobby Joe Ramirez.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2015 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville with Visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Greenhill Cemetery in Jim Hogg County.
