Virginia Brieden Haner

Virginia Brieden Haner, age 91, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt completed her journey in this life on Monday, October 17, 2011 at her home in Realitos, Texas. She was born on April 2, 1920 to John Andrew Brieden and Alice Coleman Brieden in Realitos, Texas. Virginia was a housewife who worked side-by-side with her rancher husband, as well as an avid birdwatcher, outdoor photographer, seamstress, gardener, cook and spent many retirement hours emailing and chatting on her home computer. She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Herbert H. Haner Sr., daughter, Marlene McRae, son, James P. Haner, three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Ann (Jerome) Zapletal of Realitos, TX and Freda Sue Haner Bitonti of San Antonio, TX, son, Herbert “Bert” H. Haner Jr. of Realitos, TX, sister, Georgia Gentry of Portland, TX, brother, John A. Brieden of Round Rock, TX, 14 grandchildren: Marie (Mike) White, Tracey (Rebecca) Zapletal, Brian (Shanna) Zapletal, Troy (Nora) McRae, Monte McRae, Diane (Billy) Sharp, Gina (Cody) Moore, Louis Bitonti, Jennifer (Jeff) Rose, Joleen (Tyler) Dorsey, Crystal Haner, Carrie Haner, Shelly Haner and Brent Haner, son-in-law, Nathan McRae of Hebbronville, TX, daughter-in-law, Ramona Haner of Las Cruces, NM and numerous precious great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Virginia was a rare treasure who enjoyed teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren about the great outdoor life of South Texas ranch country and she will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville.

Burial will follow at the Greenhill Cemetery in Hebbronville.

Pallbearers will be Troy McRae, Monte McRae, Tracey Zapletal, Louis Bitonti, Cody Moore and Tres Guerra.
