Virginia Isabel Ordonez

Virginia “Vicky” Isabel Ordonez passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023 at a hospital in Webster, Texas at the age of 50. She was born on December 19, 1972 to Abelardo “Lalo” Johnson and Esmeralda Benavides Johnson in Falfurrias, Texas. Virginia graduated from Angleton High School in 1991 and later furthered her education in cosmetology. Before she became ill, Vicky worked for many years as a Correctional Officer with LCS corrections in Falfurrias.

She was always a very hard working and driven person. She adored her children and grandchildren and always made time to attend their extracurricular activities. Vicky loved attending Sunday bingos, visiting game rooms and watching the Astros play baseball. She also loved to bake and cook and family time meant a lot to her.

Virginia was reunited in Heaven with her father, Lalo; her maternal grandparents, Eusebio and Aurora Benavides, paternal grandparents, Trinidad and Julia Johnson and her mother-in-law, Louisa De Los Santos.

She is survived by her husband, Jesse Ordonez; two sons, Joseph (Marie Guerra) Buxton and Abelardo Ordonez all of Clute, Texas; mother, Esmeralda (Daniel) Rodriguez of Falfurrias; brother, Enrique “Henry” (Cheryl) Johnson of North Branch, Minnesota; sister, Veronica (Mario Castillo) Vela of Falfurrias, two grandchildren, Elijah Lynn Hart and Eliana Nicole Buxton; her favorite pet dog, Aria and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and extended family members.

Pallbearers will be Abelardo Ordonez, Joseph Buxton, Victor Villegas, Mario Morones, Phillip Morones and Gilbert Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers are Sandra Villegas and Vanessa Garcia.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 3, 2023 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Premont Cemetery.
