Douglas Keith Burkhardt

Douglas was known as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. During Vietnam from 1966 to 1968, he proudly served in the First Recon Battalion Marine Corps Division. Douglas was honored recipient of the Silver Star, Purple Heart and additional honors. He was a Michigan Wolverine fan and enjoyed sports such as baseball, basketball and Nascar. Douglas played for the novelty softball team California Cuties. Douglas was loved very much by his family and friends and will be deeply missed.

Douglas leaves to cherish his memory his wife Deborah, daughters Amy Gallagher, Belinda Howard, Krissy Burkhardt, and son Jeff Burkhardt, sisters Sharon Hickmott and Sandra Miller, brother Darrell Burkhardt, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Joanne (Bissel) Burkhardt, and brothers Dennis Burkhardt and Dale Burkhardt.

Douglas will be inurned at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date and time.
