Jimmie Anderson Sr., age 86, passed away on July 19, 2026. Born July 9, 1940, Jimmie spent his life grounded in steady work, practical skill, and the quiet satisfaction that comes from doing things with care and purpose. A longtime resident of Flushing, Michigan, he will be remembered with deep respect and lasting gratitude by all who knew him.
For 30 years, Jimmie dedicated himself to his work with General Motors, reflecting a strong sense of commitment and pride in providing for those he loved. Beyond his working years, he found genuine enjoyment in the pursuits that made life feel full; time spent outside, hands busy, and days shaped by simple pleasures and familiar routines.
Jimmie especially loved working on his race car, a project that reflected both patience and know-how, and it meant a great deal that his son, Jimmie, had the opportunity to drive it. He also took pride in working outdoors in his vegetable garden, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. In lighter moments, he really enjoyed playing the slot machines at the casino, and he loved rummaging for tools and antiques; always drawn to the usefulness, history, and character found in well-worn treasures.
Jimmie is survived by his grandchildren Brandi Anderson, and Joshua Anderson; and great grandchildren Esteban Pacheco and Mateo Pacheco.
Jimmie is preceded in death by his loving wife Elizabeth Anderson; his son Jimmie Anderson Jr.; parents Reubin (Reuben) Anderson and Rosa Helen Anderson; siblings Rosla Moore, Pansy Moore, Christine Morga, Avery Chambers, Ernest Anderson, Bobby Anderson, Jerry Anderson, and Betty Sue Dancy.
