

Larry Raymond Szczepanik, age 79, went to be with the Lord, on Saturday, August 8, 2026, in Flint, Michigan. Larry was born on July 15, 1947, in Saginaw Michigan. Larry was a veteran and proudly served his country in the Airforce from 1965 -1969. He could frequently be seen wearing his Airforce ballcap. He retired from General Motors after 30 dedicated years, at both Saginaw and at AC Sparkplug in Flint. Larry had a quick wit and a wonderful way of lighting up your day with his humor and generous heart. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
Larry enjoyed golfing with his wife and was on a bowling league at AC Sparkplug. He was an accomplished artist who drew, painted and wood burned many beautiful pieces. His art was displayed in and sold in local galleries and restaurants in Flushing and the Flint area. Larry also loved to sing and could be found doing karaoke and singing at the Flushing Senior center
Larry leaves behind his loving wife of 32 years, Nancy Szczepanik, his daughters, Shawn (Dan) Cook, Jill Parlove, his stepdaughters, Virginia (Keith) Christmas, Catherine Callen and his grandchildren, Alexis, Ethan, Olivia, Damien and Noah. He also leaves behind his sisters, Pauline Verdusco and Kay (Ken) Morton, his brothers, Denis (Linda) Szczepanik and Scott Buckelew and several nieces and nephews and his little dog Charlie.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Emeline Buckelew, his father Raymond Szczepanik, and his daughter Jennifer Medearis.

There will be a Celebration of Life to honor Larry at 4pm on Wednesday, Sept 16th, 2026, at Flushing Presbyterian Church located at 5010 N. McKinley Rd, Flushing, MI 48433. Honoring Larry's wishes, his ashes will be inurned at Great Lakes National Cemetery for veterans.
