THOMPSON, ROBERT E, 88, of Flint, peacefully passed away August 18, 2013 at home. Robert was a founding and active member of the Mayfair Bible Church of Flushing. He was a decorated veteran of WWII, serving with the Army in the European Theater. He received the American theater ribbon, good conduct ribbon, bronze star, and victory medal. He retired from the Flint Board of Education as an Engineer. Robert is survived by children, Robert L Thompson of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Dwight Wilson of Ann Arbor, daughter-in-laws, Marjorie Wilson, Susan Thompson and Dorothy Wilson; grandchildren, Robert Christopher, Daniel, Timothy, Jeffery, Lisa, Gregory, David, and Shelley; and brother, Chuck. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Hazel L. Thompson; and son, Raymond Wilson. Funeral Services will be held at the Mayfair Bible Church, 5339 W. Pierson Rd, Flushing, Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at 11:00 am, Pastor Dean Stewart will officiate. Visitation will be held at Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 W. Pierson Rd, Flushing, Monday, August 26, 2013, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Robert will be laid to rest at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flushing. Contributions may be made to Mayfair Bible Church.
