    A SPECIAL LADY:  AUNTIE ANNE                            
                                   
I have many precious memories of Auntie Anne.  Here are a few of them that I think about a lot.                
                                   
Some Holiday Dinners were spent at Auntie Anne's and Uncle Willard's house.  She was a really
great cook and dinners there were very delicious and filling.  I loved having milk at her
house because they had it sitting outside by her back door in the winter in this aluminum milk box
 that held the glass bottles of milk.  I used to think it was great when you got milk with ice in it.  After dinner the kids
would go into the basement and there was always candy and treats on the tables as well as
on the counter next to the TV.  Auntie Anne always made us feel at home.  We always had fun at
her house weather we were playing outside in the back yard, at the park down the street, up in Carol's or Dennis's
bedroom or just sitting in the living room on the plastic covered couch with the round leather topped
tables that also were filled with candy listening to the adults talk.
 
I loved her house because as a small child I thought it was very cool to have a house with  a stair case that was
Curved, A table in the living room with birds and more toys for the birds than I had.
 I used to love using the upstairs bathroom too because it was always decorated with such pretty towels
 All over.  So many towels you weren't sure which ones to dry your hands with.  She also had lotions on the
Back of the toilets which I used to always put on after I washed my hands.
 
Many called Auntie Anne “Hallmark Anne”.  She always sent greeting cards for every occasion.  She wrote
Down everything and always knew every ones Birthday, anniversary.   Even the pets in the family, I called her to
Ask her if she knew the birthday of my cat one day and she had the date of Boo Boo's birthday.  Who would
Have guessed.
 
Auntie Anne also was a great gardener and I always loved to come to her house and see the flower box
Near the drive way all decorated with Moss Roses.  They always looked so beautiful as did the rest of her garden.
 
Auntie Anne asked me when I moved into my Condo if I would like the Palm Tree she had in her back
Bedroom.  I said Yes so she brought it over when she came to see my new place.  I still have the Palm Tree
And it is 28 years later.
 
Auntie Anne was a women of many HATS ,she was, A great Baker, A great Cook, A great Gardener, A great Housekeeper
A great Caregiver. A great Wife, Mom, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Godmother, 
THANKS FOR BEING MY GODMOTHER AUNTIE ANNE,  I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER….YOUR MEMORIES
AND LOVE YOU SHOWED ME WILL FOREVER BE IN MY HEART ALWAYS….  GIVE KISSES TO EVERYONE

To Carol and Dennis,
My heartfelt deepest sympathy to you and your entire family. I know how difficult it is to lose a mother. Your mother was my mother's best friend from their youth. I have such great memories of going with my mom to your house in Morton Grove and having fun just being there. Your mom and dad were the ultimate hosts and always made my mom have so much fun. I even remember how much love your mom had for your little dog Chi Chi. I remember fun times in the summer when your mom would come to my childhood home in Oak Lawn and your mom and mine would swim in our pool and they would laugh and laugh. I remember your mom's laugh as though I just heard  it yesterday. Thank you for your mom giving me some of my most fondest childhood memories ever. I know my mom was there along with so many many others to welcome your mom at Heaven's gate.

Carol and Dennis, before I  met all the "crazy cousins" I got to meet your Mom and Dad. Brian had a car question that only your Dad could answer.  Auntie Anne and I sat in the house for hours while the guys talked out in the garage.  What a wonderful woman and hostess.  Of course Brian remembers all the family parties and ALL the dogs. Carol and family,
I know you will miss Anne so much. She was never anything but kind and sweet to everyone. Jim and the boys and I have nothing but fond memories of her. Love, Karen

We will miss Anne's smile and laugh and, of course, her wonderful cards on every occasion: "Happy Birthday!" "Happy Easter!" and she always enclosed stickers for the kids. And her baking was divine! We will truly miss her.

Sadly I never knew her very well during her brighter days, but she must have been a special person based on the memorabilia at the wake and the loving care of her daughter

Even though I am sad, I also know that I am BLESSED to be part of this wonderful family who is always here to support each other.
Bob, thanks for moving mom to our home and being Mr. Fix-it to our family.
Mike, thanks for all your help thru the years for both mom and pop as well as Joe and me.  
Patti, thanks for your kind words of encouragement and making me laugh.
Karen, thanks, you are my Aunt Dorothy, ALWAYS THERE with constant love and support.
Claudia, thanks, you are my ROCK, my Uncle Johnny.  You help me with the tough decisions and are always there for me.  We are Shirley and Anne, our almost daily talks give me great comfort and joy.
Joe, my husband, thanks for sharing our home with mom even though the last few months she would ask me "Who's that lady sitting over there?" and thanks for the memories we created taking mom and pop to DC and Nashville.  Thanks for supporting me when I would spend much of my time helping mom and pop.  You never complained, you cheered me on.  I Love You with All My Heart.  I'm looking forward to the next chapter to share with you in our lives together.  
Dennis, Gail and John, we shared many wonderful memories with mom and pop thru the years and as your sister, sister-in-law and aunt, I just want to say I love you and pray we can have many more memories together. Love,  Carol

In my farewell words to Pop, I said Pop was no Angel,
But, he was the most fun, generous person to be around as well as the best auto mechanic.
MOM WAS THE ANGEL
She picked up the slack in running the house and taking care of her children.  She learned to drive in her 30's so she could be independent.  She saved money given to her as a gift so she could use it for her children or other family members.  She worried about everything, but also made sure that everything was OK.  She learned how to sew and made our clothes.  She loved to talk on the phone with her sisters and sisters-in-law and also listened when they needed to talk.  She was a care-giver to all.  She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, godmother and grandmother.  She was my mother and my best friend.  We enjoyed being together.  She was always there for me.  She taught me many things without ever telling me what to do.  It is the highest compliment when I am told that I look or act like my mother.  Mom's great strength helped her survive many hardships in life and health.  I will miss her everyday, but find comfort in knowing that she is with her family in heaven. Dear Carol and family,

I hope my sons Steve and Alex will be able to attend the wake or funeral to pay respect to Ann, who in their younger age was their only " Lola"( grandma ).
