Arlene Sylvia Newell

Arlene Sylvia Newell went to be with Jesus on July 7, 2017 after being challenged by Alzheimer's for many years. Sylvia was born on March 6, 1937 in Moscow Russia to her Finnish parents, Benti and Sylvia Lahti. Sylvia met Jesus when she was 24 years old and went to meet him at the age of 80. Sylvia loved Jesus with all her heart and reminded everyone of how much Jesus loved them.

Sylvia is survived by: Her beloved husband of 62 years: Frederick W Newell, Mama to 7 children: Fred (Cathy), Tom (Debbie), Kathy, Sandy (John), Tim (Jenny), Ruth (John), & Danny.

Grandma to 27 grandchildren: Diane, Amy (Carson), Joshua (Angie), Jessica (Jonathan), Trisha, Julia (Brad), Danielle, Alex (Becky), Erif (Michael), Mark (Michelle), Lucas (Dianna), Amber, Sarah (Jon Michael), Bethany (Neal), Abigail (Roman), Karrie, Leanna, Brenton, Matthew, Shianna, Daniel, Mason, Hannah, Aaron, Ashley, Brittany, John Jr,.

And Great Grandma to 17 great grandchildren: Eve, Mason, Caleb, James, Josiah, Isaiah, Michael, Adelyn, Breanna, Lucas Jr., Mark Jr., Callie, Daeya, Audrey, Myles, Charis, & Renee.

Visitation will be on Thursday July 13, 2017 from 3-9pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home at 7750 West Cermak Rd in Forest Park, IL. Funeral services for Sylvia will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home on Friday July 14, 2017 at 10am. While Sylvia is already in Heaven, she will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park, IL.
