Gus married Debra Balfanz in 1974 and resided in Forest Park where they raised their four children, Cari, Anthony, Andrew and Carin.
Gus was the longtime owner of West End Meat Market / Gussie’s Deli, which was passed down from his father. He was the current owner of S&S Electric Service in Forest Park. If he wasn’t out riding on his Harley, you could find him at the NHRA races, making Dunkin' runs for his coffee, spending time watching his grandchildren play their various sports, playing poker, or hanging out with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents August “Gus” Scolaro & Marie “Blondie” (Johnson) as well as his Grandson Joshua Jurkovic. He is survived by his children Cari (Jim) Jurkovic, Anthony (Alyson) Scolaro, Andrew Scolaro and Carin Scolaro. His grandchildren Abigail, Jacob, Anthony Jr. and Luca. His sisters Mary Ann (Rich) Barger, Terry (Steve) Watson & Vicki Stisevic. His companion and best friend Lynn Fielden. Many aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation will be held Monday, June 13, 2022 from 3 to 8 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 West Cermak Road, Forest Park, Illinois. Funeral Services are Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at 11:30 AM in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.
