Carol is survived by her son Michael, daughter-in-law Sheena, and granddaughter Grace. Her two brothers, Gordon and Richard and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford, and her parents, Stuart and Janet Johnson.
After moving on her own from Rockford to the Chicago area, Carol proudly worked in the medical field as an X-Ray technician and later a phlebotomist. Throughout her life she was a voracious reader, a creative crafter, an adventurous traveler, a shrewd bridge player and a strong soul who made her way on her own terms. Apart from her family she leaves behind the many dear friends she made throughout the years. Throughout her life, she lived in various places including Rockford, Western Springs, Willowbrook, Lisle, and Joliet.
Carol will be remembered for her friendship, strong will, and steadfast determination. Her legacy of kindness and resilience will continue to inspire those who knew her. She will be laid to rest during a private ceremony on July 3, 2025, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park. Carol will indeed be missed.
