Devin Johnson

Devin was born on September 30th, 1988 in Chicago, IL, to Darryl D. Johnson and Maria C. Johnson. He grew up in Berwyn, IL and later graduated from Morton West High School. He explored a variety of occupations but ultimately his love for art and storytelling led him to pursue a career in writing. Prior to his passing, he was working on several short stories with the goal of completing and publishing this year.

Devin is remembered for his sense of humor, generosity, encouraging nature, and infectious laughter with an open and generous heart. He enjoyed drawing and sculpting, walks in nature, listening to all genres of music and dancing along to his favorite songs. He found joy in trying new foods and discovering new restaurants, a reflection of his curious and adventurous spirit. Devin loved the Marvel and DC comics and movies and was always so eager to attend the opening night of each movie premier. Above all, he cherished his time with his family and friends.

Devin was unmarried with no children. He is survived by his loving mother, Maria; his brother, Darryl; his sister, Delilah; and his youngest brother, Kyler. He was preceded in death by his father, Darryl.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 11th, between 4 pm - 8pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Forest Park, IL.

A chapel service will be held on this day, starting at 7 pm. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Devin’s life.
