A longtime resident of Oak Park, IL, Eileen Susanne Deamer passed away on January 1, 2025, in Los Angeles, CA. Born in New Brunswick, NJ, to John (Red) Deamer and Annie Deamer (formerly Annie Graham), Eileen's family later settled in Palatine, IL, where she excelled as a star cheerleader and track runner at Fremd High School. She pursued her passion for history at the University of Michigan, where she became a devoted Wolverine the moment she stepped on campus. After completing law school at Loyola Chicago, Eileen joined the Environmental Protection Agency, where she met her beloved husband, Richard Nagle, celebrating 30 wonderful years of marriage.
Eileen was a brilliant mother to her two children, Graham Nagle-Deamer and Annie Deamer-Nagle. She was also a devoted daughter to her mother, Annie Deamer (1934-2023), whom she cared for during her long battle with dementia.
A true social butterfly, Eileen had friends all over the world, and her warmth and kindness touched countless lives. She loved to travel, exploring destinations from New Zealand to Italy to Japan, and she cherished her time abroad in Austria. Eileen had a passion for cooking, singing, dancing, reading romance novels, and enjoying a good conversation over drinks. She was a leader in feminism and held strong moral convictions that inspired those around her.
Eileen is survived by her husband, children, and her sisters, Nancy LoBue and Kathleen Farraher.
