Geraldine M Leninger

Geraldine “Geri” Leninger (nee Gembicki), age 86, a longtime resident of Forest Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 14, 2022, in La Grange, Illinois. She was born March 14th,1936, in Chicago, Illinois.

Beloved wife of 44 years to the late Richard Leninger, whom she married June 14th, 1958, loving mother of Terence (Dawn) Leninger, Kathleen (the late Bob) Brown, Diane (Colin) Chin, Patti (Chuck) Chow and Richard Leninger; adored grandmother of seven: Kristin (Mark) Robins, Tyler (Jess) Leninger, Taylor (Anderson) Whipp, Cullen Chin, Jacob, Luke and Hana Chow; great-grandmother of four: Roy Trevino, Avery and Vera Whipp, and Finn Robins; beloved daughter of the late Edward and Bernice Gembicki; dear sister of the late Priscilla (the late Dan) Arndt, and the late Dorothy Gembicki; and fond aunt, cousin and friend of many.

Geri grew up in Chicago and was a graduate of Austin High School. She worked for Prudential, where she met her husband Richard. A caring and devoted mom, she raised her family in Forest Park, Illinois . Geri enjoyed going for walks, gardening, doing puzzles, playing cards and singing and dancing with friends. She was a proud member of the Polish American Cultural Club. Geri was a member of St. Bernardine Catholic Church in Forest Park, Illinois.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 28th, 2022, from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 West Cermak Road (corner of Cermak Road and Des Plaines Avenue), Forest Park, Illinois.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 29th, at 11:00 AM at St. Bernardine Catholic Church, 7246 Harrison Street, Forest Park, Illinois.
