Gustavo was born on 04/16/1948 in Cerritos, San Luis Potosi, Mex, to Jose Galvan Espinoza & Taide Castillo Sifuentes. He grew up in Cerritos, SLP and later followed the girl of his dreams to Chicago.
He married Gloria Banda Rodriguez on 04/18/1970, and together they shared 56 years of marriage and enjoyed a very long and very loving family life together with their 5 children. Their journey together began when they first met in Cerritos and continued as he followed her to Chicago. Although they moved back to Cerritos for a short part of their lives, they settled in Cicero where they continued to raise their family, that has grown to now include 10 wonderful grandchildren and 3 beautiful great-grandchildren.
Gustavo is remembered for his kindness, humor, generosity, strength, and unconditional love for his family and friends. Those who knew him remember not how often he spoke, but how much weight his words carried. Everything he did in his life was for the sole purpose of providing for his family. His work, sacrifice and focus on bringing a better life to his wife and children was at the center of who he was in life. To his wife and children and later grandchildren, he will always be Tito.
Gustavo leaves behind his wife; his children, Rick (Martha) Galvan, Gus, Jose Antonio (Betty) Galvan, and Melissa (David) Perez; his grandchildren, Cindy, Lisa, Eric, Nico, Alex, Diego, Santi, Jordi, Addi, and Lucas; his great grandchildren, Branton, Xander and Rafi; his siblings Chelo, Toño, Pepe, Maga, Victor, Marta, Lupe, Chuy and Lalo; and an extended family and community of friends whose lives were forever shaped by knowing him.
