

Hilda was born in Brooklyn, NY November 21, 1934 to Simon and Virginia Stallings. She married James Craft in 1959 and their marriage lasted 33 wonderful years until his death in 1992. Their union produced her two much loved children Philip and Virginia. The family moved from Jamaica, NY to Brook Park, Ohio in 1968 where Hilda enjoyed gardening, exercising at the local rec center and being a full-time homemaker. The family moved to Bellwood, Il in 1983 where her love of gardening, family and exercise continued. Hilda could often be found walking on the Prairie Path a few days each week on all but the coldest winter days. She and James joined the Bellwood Presbyterian church (which later merged with the Berkeley-Hillside Presbyterian Church) and she became and active member of the church body.She became deeply involved with the church's food panty.
Hilda is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
She leaves her legacy of love to her sister Elaine Hansley, brothers; Michael, Gregory and Robert (Apryle) Stallings, a niece Kim Robinson and a nephew Darryl (Rana) Fields and a great niece Tiara (Javon) Harris. She is also survived by her dear Aunt Mae Butler.
A visitation will be held Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m. until the beginning of the funeral service at 11:45 a.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 W. Cermak Rd., Forest Park. A graveside committal service will follow immediately in Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family wished to extend their gratitude to the Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Naperville for their support during her final days.
