I started singing with Inez at the age of 6. And boy, was I a HORRIBLE singer. My first recital consisted of me crying the entire show because I was too scared to sing in front of everyone in her living room. Finally, I gathered up the courage to sing, as long as my daddy could hold my hand while I sang my song, "Castle on a Cloud". I admired her growing up, even writing a school project on her. She was just such an amazing woman. And who can forget her stilettos! So graceful. So beautiful. So inspirational. I am so glad to have been brought up with Inez in my life. When we had tea this summer, she said she was writing her memoir "My Stiletto Symphony". Perfect title for a perfect woman. Love you Inez!

Mrs. Crofts, and Mr. Crofts, were very long time neighbors and friends to our family and grandmother. She taught us piano and voice. She was a wonderful inspiration. We will always remember her, and her mother and sister, as they were a part of our lives. We shared the courtyard with them, and our wonderful historical homes. We will miss her very much.

I had the great pleasure of meeting Inez recently and in a short period of time, she left an indeliable mark on my life. She was a wonderful spirit who was very full of life and I can't help but think that God needed a spunky, beautiful singing angel:-). God bless you Inez and I cannot wait to meet you again someday! Love, Jon

Inez was a dear, dear friend. In fact, she was my pledge mother at The Chicago Conservatory when I joined Sigma Alpha Iota, International Music Fraternity/Sorority. I have been a member for more than fifty years, and for her it was even longer. I was privileged to be the soprano who sang on the recording of her song cycle "Hommage," written as a tribute to five of her favorite classical composers. We performed this work many times in and around the Chicago area, as well as other "Messiahs" and programs. My son and I visited Inez a couple of years ago and were delighted to see how gracefully she was dealing with the inevitable advancing years. I will always count Inie as a very special friend indeed.

Inez was a wonderful neighbor and friend, I have never known anyone so full of life as she was. My daughter took voice lessons from her when she was quite young, and loved her dearly. She will be missed. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to her family.

We were sorry to hear of Inez's passing. She sang "The Wedding Song" at our wedding in 1972. We will never forget her.
