Jeanette Roldan

Jeanette Roldan, 57 years young, loving mother of two daughters, Jennifer and Nancy, passed away in the evening hours on Thursday, July 21, 2022. Jeanette was born on August 6, 1964 in Brooklyn, New York to Miguel Roldan Reyes and Alejandrina De Jesus Silva. Jeanette was a dear sister to Elizabeth, fond aunt to Natasha and Priscilla and niece to 17 aunts and uncles. Jeanette was a cherished grandmother to Yovanni, Jaslyne and Ezekiel.

Jeanette lived in Brooklyn, New York for 3 years with her family and then moved to San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico until the ages 4-5 and then to Chicago, Illinois for her remaining years. She grew up in the Lincoln Park and Logan Square areas, where she met the father of her daughters, Hipolito.

Jeanette was a loving, caring, humorous, blunt individual that was known to give to others even if she was struggling herself. We remember her by her forwardness and dramatic ways, but most importantly for her smile and brilliant green eyes. Her favorite sayings were "What" "What are you looking at?" "Did anyone call?" "Did you eat?" She loved all types of music, but her two of her favorites were "Suavemente" by Elvis Crespo and "The Thong Song" by Sisqo. Jeanette never let limited transportation stop her from getting to the party or to explore. She loved walking, going to the zoo and taking pictures. Her favorite fast food restaurants were Mcdonalds and Burger King, but she also loved her authentic Puerto Rican food. Although Jeanette's life was plagued with difficulty, she was always resilient and a fighter. Even during her final hours she fought and showed her strength to succumb to her death on her own terms. A visitation for Jeanette will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 West Cermak Road, Forest Park, Illinois followed by a chapel service Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 1:00 PM, Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 West Cermak Road, Forest Park, Illinois. A committal service will occur Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 7750 West Cermak Road, Forest Park, Illinois.
