My deepest sympathy to the Cartagena family. It was a pleasure to work with Jose in the 8th district. He was always warm and friendly. I recently re-connected with Jose on Facebook and I enjoyed the many pictures he shared of his family and grandchildren. Rest in Peace Jose.

You can always tell how amazing and pure someone is by how much they are loved and Jose is so loved. He was a beloved father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and brother. He will be dearly missed and his love will be everlasting. 

We send our deepest condolences to all the family. We hope all of the amazing memories you have will comfort the family in those moments when words fail. You are in all of our thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of such a good person. I have known Jose since he was about ten or eleven years old. He worked with me on my milk truck and never missed a day when he was supposed to meet me at eighteenth  and Allport. I ran into him later in years when he was a PO in the Tenth District and I worked in the Gang Unit. I still converse with him on Face  Books Messenger system. He was always a super person in all those years. I will truly miss him but I can’t imagine how much his family and close friends will miss him. 
God Bless and Keep him. He was a real man.
