Josephine "Josie" Compian, age 75 of Chicago, II. Passed away peacefully on August 15,2026 surrounded by family. Josie was born August 12, 1951. She was the beloved daughter of the late Guadalupe San Miguel.
Josie was employed and retired working for the (CPS) Chicago Public Schools. She was known as the family historian, you can ask her about family, societies and cultures. or movies event and she knew the answers. She can recall events even before her birth. She just knew.
Josie is survived by her husband Gilbert Compian and her sons Juan Compian and Sergio Compian, his wife Julia and granddaughter Amores.
She was the loving sister of Raul (Venza) Munguia and family, the late Ramona Reyes and family, Victor (Maria Dolores) Munguia and family, Maria Magdalena Munguia, Alma Rosa O'Connell and family, Jose "Papo" (Esmeralda) and family; Cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews. She will also be remembered by her godchildren, many friends and co-workers and ones she has touch in life, through kindness, support and inspiration.
Visitation will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 West Cermak Road, Forest Park, IL 60130, on August 27, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral Friday, August 28, 2026, at 11:30am in the chapel. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park
