Larry was born on November 25th, 1931, and from the very begining, his life reflected faith, love, and service. He made his home in Bellwood, Illinois, where he became a trusted, and caring presence in his church and community. Through his quiet strength, kind heart, and willingness to help others, Larry left an impact that will never be forgotten.
As a young man, Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean war. His courage reflected the words of John 15:13: "Greater to love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends."
The honor and selflessness he displayed in service remained evident throughout his life in the way he cared for others and lived with integrity.
Larry's faith in God was the foundation of everything he did. He didn't simply talk about his faith - he lived it each day. Whether offering encouragement, lending a helping hand, or standing beside someone in need, Larry demonstrated God's love through his actions. Among God's greatest blessings in Larry's life was his beloved wife, Zenaida, of 42 years. Together they built a marriage rooted in faith, love, and devotion, beautifully reflecting the words of 1 Corinthians 13:7: "Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." Their love was an inspiration to all who knew them.
Larry also found joy in playing the saxophone, using his gift to bring happiness to others. As a dedicated business owner, he worked diligently to provide for his family, living by Colossians 3:23: "What ever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord."
Above all, Larry treasured his family. As a loving husband, father, and grandfather, he shared his wisdom, faith, and unconditional love, leaving behind a legacy that will continue for generations.
Larry leaves behind his beloved wife, Zenaida; his children: Charles (Regina) Owen and Apyrl (Barry Ferrell, Lisa (Tony) Leggett, Michael (Maribel) Hernandez, his sister, Josephine Wright; his brother, Carey Bostick; his cousin, Margie Lewis; and his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends, who will continue to carry forward his faith, values, and love.
Through we will miss Larry deely, we rejoice in knowing he has finished his race and now rests in the presence of the Lord he faithfully served. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his legacy of faith and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.
